Minocycline Acne

Minocycline is an oral antibiotic. Minocycline is an imitative form of tetracycline. This antibiotic has been used in 1970's. This is used for the moderate to severe forms of acne vulgaris. The minocycline is the antibacterial and anti-inflammatory effects. The minocycline is became very contentious treatment for acne. This reduces the redness and swelling of acne. The minocycline be likely to grade at the large end of the price scale for acne treatments. The minocycline is always started with a dose of 50 to 100 mg twice a day.

The medication can be taken any time and is easiest to remember at meals. Minocycline should not be used if you are pregnant and if you are breast-feeding. The minocycline is used for the various problems such as acne, rosacea, perioral dermatitis. This is available in the two forms and they are Minocin® and Dynacin®. The minocycline is widely used. This is safe and effective therapy for acne. There is a need of agreement among dermatologists over the relative risks and benefits of minocycline. This treatment may be used for up to 12 weeks.

Side effects of the Minocycline

The minocycline have the some beneficial and some harmful effects. The minocycline kills the acne bacteria more effectively. There are various side effects of the minocycline and they are as given below

  • Headaches
  • Tooth discoloration
  • Nausea
  • Joint pains
  • Internal problems
  • Vomiting
  • Allergy
  • Skin pigmentation changes
