Male Hair Loss

Hair loss is generally regarded as natural, it’s not a disease. Whether you're male or female, black or white, rich or poor hair loss is upsetting. Male hair loss caused by increased sensitivity to male sex hormones (androgens) in certain parts of the scalp. This may be passed on from generation to generation. This process starts as early as the later teen age years.

Some other reason for hair loss may include active thyroid, fungal scalp infection, stress, iron deficiency in body. Patches of hair may be lost and replaced with pink scaly skin.

Reasons for Male Hair Loss

Men suffering from androgenetic alopecia have elevated levels of a chemical called dihydrotestosterone (DHT) in their scalp. DHT is a male hormone testosterone, which may be responsible for masculine characteristics in men. Testosterone gets converted into DHT this may result hair loss.

The hormones make the hair follicles. This follicles is help in hair grows. Over a period of time they become very small so they couldn’t replace lost hairs. In this situation follicles are alive, but not able to perform their task. Each hair grows approximately 1 centimeter per month. Sometimes some medicines like cancer medicine, birth control pills can cause hair loss.

Treatment for hair loss in men

  1. Hair loss is not curable. You may try for this but best option is that you have to accept real situation. If you are mentally prepare for it then you can definitely get satisfied.
  2. Plastic surgery – Normally it’s not possible to stop hair loss but plastic surgery may be the one & only reliable way to replace lost hair. Plastic surgery include transplant, scalp reduction and flap-surgery.
  3. Overall in this treatments sessions surgeon keep on moving non-sensitive hairs from the back side of the head to the top.
  4. Finasteride is a medicine taken that partially blocks the effects of the male hormones. Sometimes medical treatment may have side effects.
