Although widely available at stores, tying them requires some practice. Buying them is one thing and tying them properly is another thing. Once you tie them correctly, they will give you the suave, sophisticated look in next to no time. If you are really looking forward to make a fashion statement in a boardroom meeting, it should be with your necktie first.
Tips on tying a necktie
There are several types of knots that you can try out when it comes to a necktie. You have the four in hand knot, the Windsor knot, the Pratt knot and the half Windsor knot that you could always try. Each one of these knots is stylish in its own way. If you are looking for a triangular tie knot that is also thick and wide it is best to opt for the Windsor knot. In fact Windsor knot is the easiest to practice and tie. The type of knot also depends on your facial features. For instance a Windsor knot will always look good on a long face, while a Pratt knot would look good on a round face.
All said and done Windsor knots are the most popular of the knot and still continue to find increasing patronage among fashion conscious men. You can always do with a few tips when trying this knot. You should first cross the wide end of the tie over the narrow end. You should then bring the broad end around and just behind the narrow end. You will then need to bring the wide end upwards and pull the end through the loop between the collar and the tie. The wide or broad end of the tie should be brought around front over the narrow end, in a direction running from the right to the left. You will then need to repeat the process and bring the broad or wide end up through the loop. You also need to repeat bringing down the wide end through the knot that is in the front. Once the knot is created you can then tighten it and then draw it up towards your collar. Once you follow these tips a tying a Windsor knot becomes rather easy.
