Eyebrow Lift: Eyebrow Lifting techniques

Why go for eyebrow lift?

Deep furrows on the forehead, frown lines over the eyes, drooping eyebrows and hood-like skin over the eyes are all conditions that can make you look older than you are - or feel. Whether age or heredity causes these conditions, a forehead lift (or brow lift) can give you a more youthful, animated and alert appearance.

It used to be that cosmetic surgery was for the over fifty crowd. Patients waited until they looked awful and then asked for "the works". Their results were dramatic, but, unfortunately, everyone could tell they just had surgery. Today, nearly one-third of those seeking facial rejuvenation surgery are between 35 and 50 years old.

What is Eyebrow Lifting?

The forehead lift is also known as an endobrow lift, an open brow lift, or a temporal lift. The procedure cosmetically corrects sagging in the forehead skin, upper eyelids and eyebrows.

How eyebrow lift is performed?

Eyebrow lifts are usually performed under local anesthesia, supplemented by a mild sedative to keep you relaxed, yet awake. Your doctor will make an incision across the top of the head, just above the hairline. Excess skin, fat and portions of the muscle are then removed through the incision, which is then closed with clips or sutures. Forehead and brow lifts may be performed alone, or along with other procedures such as a facelift or eyelid surgery.

Other procedures for liftting eyebrows

Using endoscopic surgery, keeps brow lift scars minimal and inconspicuous. Following surgery, sutures will come out within a week and swelling and bruising will begin to subside after five to seven days. Most patients return to their normal schedules in a day or two, although it's advisable to avoid lifting, bending and other forms of physical exertion.

This simple procedure literally elevates the face and makes the tired, sad look disappear. It's positively uplifting.

Advantages of brow lift

  • Browlift can smooth out the wrinkles and correct drooping brows and heavy lids to provide a younger, friendlier appearance.
  • A browlift can be performed alone or with other cosmetic procedures such as a facelift, eyelid surgery, or laser skin resurfacing.
  • A forehead lift or "browlift" helps to reduce deep creases, horizontal lines, and furrows in the forehead while lifting heavy, droopy eyebrows that can create a hooding effect over the eyes.
