More problems arise after the dental implant is done and there are many factors that affect the implant. Sometimes, after the surgery there can be some swelling, bruising of your skin and gums, pain at the implant site, minor bleeding and gums can become tender or surgery may also lead to infections. So you have to take care and folow some precautions after the implant is complete. Sometimes dental implant do not work if the bone fails to fuse sufiiciently to the metal implant cylinder. Another dental implant problem is breaking of the dental work or even the implant.
There are some risks or problems involved in dental implant :
- Infection at the implant site.
- Injury or damage to surrounding structures, such as other teeth, blood vessels and the nasal cavity.
- Nerve damage, which can cause pain, numbness and tingling in your natural teeth, gums, lips or chin.
- Sinus problems, when dental implants placed in the upper jaw protrude into one of your sinus cavities.
- Stiffnes of jaw muscles.
