Garment repair

Many a times we tend to forget that clothes are just like any other product. They too undergo wear and tear and would need repairs just like any other product. May be we take them for granted and feel that since we have paid for them they would last long without any repairs. Nothing could be farther from truth. It is always handy if you have the skills when it comes to clothes repair.

Clothes repair

You never know when you would need to use clothes repair skills. Women may for instance need to know about changing the ‘underwire’ of a bra. Similarly men should know at least the basics of stitching so that they could hem a pant or sew a tear. One never knows when these skills would come in handy. Take for instance the process of stitching a tear or sewing the hem of a pant. All that you need is a needle and a thread that matches the fabric and you can do the repair job yourself in next to no time, provided you have the practice. Similarly with a bit of practice you can fix any type of hole in your raincoats too. A strip of rubber for covering the hole and glue is all that you would need, apart from a bit of skill.

Women very often need to change the underwire of their bras. The underwire in the bra is what provides support and is made up of either a plastic or metal strip. With a little bit of effort you can now change the underwire of your bra yourself. A bit of practice and you can do this in an hour or so. All that you need to follow are a few steps, involving removing the old underwire and then inserting the new one. Although clothes repair jobs such as this will sound complicated, in reality they are far easy. With time and practice you can do many clothes repair jobs on your own.

If you use hypo allergenic makeup for your sensitive skin, remember to use hypo allergenic nail polish, too - you constantly touch your face with your hands and can easily trigger a reaction.
