Choosing a flannel shirt
There is nothing to beat a flannel shirt when you need to keep warm. No amount of layered clothing including, scarves, sweaters or turtlenecks can match the comfort of a flannel shirt, especially during the winter months. A flannel shirt is almost always a part of every fashion conscious woman’s wardrobe.
Buying a flannel Shirt
Flannel shirts go back a long time in history. Their popularity and functionality can be gauged from the fact that they continue to be popular to this day. Heavy flannel makes a good layer over any other fleece garment and can help in blocking icy cold winds. You can also wear a turtleneck under the flannel to keep the cold at bay. You can even wear them inside a cold room over literally any dress for that matter.
Flannel shirts are available in a wide variety of thickness. The trick is to go in for the one that is most tightly woven. These types of flannels would soften as you wash them over a period of time and usually last longer. This is not always the case with soft flannels which tend to wear off after a few washes.
These days you can find flannel shirts made up of chamois cloth. This is a particular type of cotton which is considerably tightly woven and heavier than the other available varieties. They are the best choice, especially if you are living in extremely cold places.
Flannel shirts come in a wide variety of colors these days. Solid colors always look good on flannels. If you are someone who prefers soft pastel colors, then you can find flannels coming in these colors too. The choice of color would usually be dictated by where exactly you want to wear them. For instance while solid colors would be good for the workplace, a bright orange colored shirt would be apt for an evening get together. With so many choices available, you can easily find one that just suits your needs and taste quite easily.
