Bowens disease is not a common skin infection which affects people in their adult ages. It is a form of intra-epidermal carcinoma-in-situ which rarely can become invasive.
Bowens disease is generally presents on the exposed skin parts as an isolated scaly red patch or plaque looking rather like psoriasis although it has a rather irregular edge. The lesions do not clear but slowly increase in size with time.

Treatment is with topical 5-fluorouracil, cryotherapy or curettage.
