Uncover a fresher face

Get seasoned: Your skin – especially your hands and face – endures a daily assault from the elements. Temperature, pollution, low humidity and improper skin care techniques are just a few of the contributors to the abuse. When skin weathers this way, it causes a buildup of dead cells (which contain dark melanin pigment) that give a grayish-brown cast to the skin. That’s why your face looks dry, dull and tired. Here are some good way to help your skin.
(1) Scrub up: there are many good exfoliating scrubs available. Look for one that uses very fine milled scrub particles; these are gentler on your skin. Products that contain the scrubbing beads that dissolve as you rub are better. Only use exfoliating scrubs once or twice a week, preferably at night time and be sure to follow up with rich, emollient moisturizer.
You can also exfoliate by using a cleaner or moisturizer containing an alpha hydroxyl acid such as glycolic acid, or one containing a beta hydroxyl acid, such as salicylic acid, to help your skin shed its outer layers and reveal new, freshener skin below. A third option is to use disposable cleaning cloths. Not only are they quick and convenient, but the nubby texture of the cloths slough and polish your skin while washing away dirt, makeup and other skin offenders. Don’t use these cloths if you have acne.
(2) Add some glow: try one of the newer skin-brightening products that use vitamins such as C, K and niacin and plant ingredients to perk up the skin and give it a more youthful appearance.
(3) Protect yourself: Don’t go out without first applying a sunscreen to your face – yes even in the winter. Look for a product with an SPF 15 for your face and hands.

Look Great from Behind

Strong glutes look great in jeans and make stair climbing a snap. Start toning with this Leg Pulse exercise. Do one set of 10 repetitions, counting 1-2-3 as you lift and 1-2-3 as you lower.

Beginners

Stand with your feet together and raise your left leg behind you several inches off the floor. (Stand next to a wall to catch yourself if you lose your balance.) Tighten your butt muscles, and press the left leg back farther. Pause and return to start. Complete a set, then switch legs.

Advanced

Give your glutes an extra lift with this Kick Back move.

Do one set of 10 repetitions, counting 1-2-3 as you lift and 1-2-3 as you lower.

Start on your hands and knees with your head in line with your spine. Contract your glutes and lift your leg back until your thigh is parallel to the floor. Pause, then lower. Complete a set, then switch legs.

Stretch it out

Tight glutes can contribute to lower back comfort. The Sit Back stretch will prevent tightening. Hold onto a door frame or railing and cross your left foot over your right knee so your left knee points out to the left. Sit back until your right thigh is almost parallel to the floor. Hold for 15-16 seconds. Switch legs.

Dandruff

One of the major disorders of the scalp and is known as Pityriasis. Like skin, being shed and replaced, in the same way the uppermost layer of the scalp continuously sheds the scale. If dandruff is neglected for a long time, it leads to baldness. It is generally believed to be infectious and is considered contagious which may spread by the use of common combs, brushes, towels, soaps and other articles. Sluggish condition of scalp, poor blood circulation, poor hygiene and deficient diet are some other causes of hair dandruff.

Dandruff is of two types:
Dry dandruff and
Waxy type dandruff.

Dry dandruff is characterized by an itchy scalp where small white scales usually attached to the scalp or loosely scattered in the hair, shed off.

The waxy or greasy type of dandruff is yellow in color, scaliness of the epidermis mixed with the sebum oozing from scalp, causes scales to stick to the scalp in patches causing itchiness. If the greasy scales are torn off, bleeding or oozing of sebum may follow. Dandruff should be treated immediately on finding the slightest signs of its existence.
